Personal life

Escobar did so much for his family with his wealth that he aquired. He had a wife named Maeia Victioia Henao. They married when Escaobar was 26 and she was only 15. Together they had 2 kids, Manuela Escobar and Sebastián Marroquín. But Escobar had many affairs during his marriage to Maeia. Escobar cared so much about his daughter that at one point he burned around 2 million dollars in order to keep his daughter warm. With his wealth, he was able to build a mega mansion named “Hacienda Nápoles.” The house had a sculpture garden, an airport, several swimming pools, lush lawns, man made lakes, and even a private zoo with exotic birds, horses, elephants, rhinos, and hippos.

His prison

In 1991, Escobar was facing multiple criminal charges, some of which could get him extradited to the US, so he and his lawyers came up with a compromise so he could stay in Colombia. Pablo would build his own prison and choose his own guards. It was called “La Catedral” and it was less of a prison and more of a mansionThe prison had a football field, jacuzzi, and waterfall. He also threw many parties at the prison. While he was in prison he was still able to run his cartel just as before but he was protected from extradition and other cartels.  After a year or so in his own prison the Colombian government decided to place Escobar in a real prison, but before they could, Escobar disappeared.
